GOTO: My LinkedIn profile
I’m currently a data scientist, big data engineer and managing consultant at IBM Global Business Services, based out of New York City.
In December 2016, I graduated from the Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University with a Masters in Information Systems Management. My degree specialization was in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
In my 6 years within the data science space, I’ve been fortunate to have been involved at every stage in the delivery of an analytics project – from building a minimum viable product that addresses a specific client need to taking a solution into production. I have developed solutions in Python, R, SAS, MongoDB, several flavours of SQL and the Cloudera stack for distributed processing.
My work at IBM (and previously, Accenture) has given me the chance to work with clients in several industry domains and has uniquely positioned me at the intersection of business process, statistics and software programming. While my recent industry focus has been towards enabling data driven decisions within the consumer products space, I have also worked on several exciting projects within the transportation, life sciences and finance & accounting industries.
During my time at the Heinz College, CMU, I was a graduate teaching assistant for two subjects:
Programming in R for Analytics – An introductory course that helps students learn and build statistical models using the R Programming Language.
Decision Making Under Uncertainty – An operations research course which covers optimization, uncertainty and time series forecasting.
I have been a senior Fellow of the Melton Foundation, an international fellowship program that advocates Global Citizenship and helps individuals address local and global challenges, since 2013. I am currently a member of the foundation’s grant committee tasked with evaluating grant applications and had the fortune of being a Junior Fellow representative on the Board of Directors from 2012-2014.
